The Brave Space Podcast
Brave Space is a healing place for gun violence prevention professionals and survivors. We meet together with people who are willing to share their challenging life experiences on a public platform and describe their process for achieving personal transformation. In doing so, we are helping to reframe the harmful narratives about community violence and those involved.
The purpose of The Brave Space Podcast is for us to heal in community. By sharing our lived experiences, we give voice to those who are most impacted by community violence and in need of healing and restoration.

When faced with trials and tribulations, we may often ask God, "Why me?" While searching for answers to her "why," Chainah discovered that her testimony was molding her into an empathetic advocate with the strength to support other survivors through their healing. As the Director of the Survivors Assistance Network at the Newark Community Street Team (NCST), Chainah provides compassionate care and resources to survivors of community violence. To learn more about her healing journey, we encourage you to read her book, 'Hey God, Did You Get My Message?: Victim to Victorious,' which is available on Amazon or Kindle: https://www.amazon.com/Hey-God-Did-You-Message/dp/1539533069.
